Partnership Frogmore, Galliard Homes and O'Shea today announces their exclusive collaboration with world renowned photographer, David Bailey, for eagerly awaited new development, The Chilterns, London W1. Situated in Marylebone, the exclusive collection of apartments and penthouses represents the first modern new build in the area for over five years.
A one of one in quality, concept and design, the development represents a rare opportunity to buy the highest specification new build in the area. It also sets a new record price per square foot for Marylebone, at £3,500.
Born and raised an East-End Londoner, David Bailey is renowned as one of the world's most illustrious photographers and his work defined an age of the City in 1960s London. Now, exclusively for The Chilterns, Bailey immortalises the wide variety and, yet, wholly personal aspect of living that London brings for each individual. 44 specially produced images now exhibit Bailey's own timeless and unique interpretation of Marylebone and it is these original prints that will hang, pride of place, in each spectacular apartment at The Chilterns.
Bailey comments: "Marylebone seems to have an abundance of goodies from a great fish and chip shop to Wigmore Hall and Damien Hirst's office and shop. In fact, the full gambit. The best way to see a place is to photograph it. You don't always see a place, a person, a park until you look at a photograph."
To launch the scheme, Frogmore and Galliard are hosting an exclusive exhibition at One Marylebone, which will be the only occasion on which all 44 Bailey original prints will be available to view.
Named after the site's location on Chiltern Street, Marylebone, The Chilterns will comprise 44 luxury apartments which offer a standard of living second to none in the area. Situated in the heart of Marylebone, London and adjoining Paddington Gardens, The Chilterns is due to be delivered in summer 2015 and will comprise 30 two-bedroom apartments and duplexes; 13 three-bedroom apartments and penthouses; and a stunning 6 bedroom penthouse. Each opulent apartment provides unprecedented living space and scale for this exclusive part of London, starting from 1,129 sq. ft. for a 2 bedroom property and up to 7,566 sq. ft. for one of the lavish penthouse apartments. The building offers secure underground parking, a gym and spa facility and a concierge service 24 hours a day. Perhaps, most temptingly, residents of each apartment have an opportunity to own a basement wine cellar.
The Chilterns offers a one off opportunity to acquire an impressive new build apartment in this highly sought after Marylebone address. Formally home to T.S.Eliot and Charles Dickens, Marylebone has one of the few high streets in London that still successfully combines a traditional village atmosphere with designer boutiques, including The Conran Shop and Cologne & Cotton, as well as famous eateries like The Providores and The Orrery. A desirable location for education and culture, University College London, the Royal Academy of Music and The Wallace Collection are on the doorstep. The Chilterns central location means residents are connected to, and can enjoy, the very finest London has to offer.
The interior design showcases the highest technical specifications coupled with the finest examples of progressive interiors from world-renowned designer Rabih Hage. The variety of the Londoner's daily life is the inspiration for the interior design of The Chilterns, coupled with a seamless blend of comfort and innovation. This, when coupled with the iconic photographs of world famous photographer, David Bailey, provides an overall exclusivity to the one of oneness that only The Chilterns can offer. It becomes an interior space like no other - unique, bespoke and entirely personal.
Paul White, chairman and CEO of Frogmore, comments: "In trying to illustrate something as unique as The Chilterns and the area of Marylebone, we felt it only fitting to use a photographer who himself is unique. David Bailey is one of the world's most iconic and original photographers who has spent a lifetime creating images that, like The Chilterns, can only be described as one of one. We asked Bailey to capture the Marylebone area in the form of 44 specially commissioned limited edition prints which he developed into a wonderful book. With our warmest compliments, we are giving each owner of an apartment at The Chilterns a framed original David Bailey print from the series he created for us, together with the book."
Apartments are priced from £3m and are available immediately through Galliard Homes. To make a private appointment please contact Oksana Lukjaneca 020 8418 1070
