Guy Leonard and Company Estate Agents have stuck their neck out and sponsored and decorated a 5ft paper mache giraffe as part of the Horsham Giraffe Trail in West Sussex.
Their giraffe was decorated in company colours and covered in paper houses to raise funds for Horsham Community Responders. The Responders are a group of ambulance trained volunteers who attend local medical emergencies, often arriving before the ambulance and giving life-saving first aid.
Guy Leonard Estate Agents Marketing Manager, Michelle, commented 'As a local business, we were keen to sponsor a giraffe for a local charity that really makes a difference to people here.' She continued, 'in fact, one of our team has benefitted directly from a Responder who gave her partner first aid when he received some nasty burns.'
Fifty giraffes have been sponsored by businesses and shops in Horsham and over 10,000 people have taken part in the Trail around the town centre by tracking down the giraffes to try and win prizes donated by local businesses.
Michelle at Guy Leonard Estate Agents said 'The Trail has really captured people's attention in the town and has already raised almost £3000 for a number of charities'. It is hoped even more money will be raised later this month when the giraffe, who has been signed by Brian May from Queen, is auctioned as part of the Giraffe Trail charity eBay auction later this month.
