Strong Interest In Remaining Opportunities At Maroochydore Homemaker Centre

CBRE

Just four tenancies remain in Harvey Norman's strongly performing Maroochydore Homemaker Centre in South East Queensland.

The 32,000sqm centre - the first homemaker complex to be built in Queensland since 2009 - has been open and trading since November 2012.

It comprises over 20 retail stores in addition to 4,185sqm of office space which includes a 2,100sqm Goodlife Health Club. The centre is the only internalised homemaker complex servicing the growing Sunshine Coast market, and has been developed and anchored by one of Australia's leading retailers, Harvey Norman.

Existing stores in the centre include Harvey Norman, Joyce Mayne, Domayne, Nick Scali, Plush, Next Byte, The Outdoor Furniture Specialists, Akasha, Sleepy's, 2 Garnish and Global Living Furniture.

Being internalised, the centre is fully air conditioned for customer comfort, with ample undercover parking provided for 900 vehicles.

CBRE Associate Director, Retail Bulky Goods, Damian Crocetti said the $130 million centre was well positioned to take full advantage of the 'Homemaker Market Boom' with bulky goods spending in the catchment area totalling an estimated $1.029 billion according to Deep End Services.

The complex is situated just 1km west of the Maroochydore CBD and only moments from proposed Bunnings and Masters sites, and adjacent to the largest shopping centre on the Sunshine Coast, the Best & Less, Coles, Kmart, Myer and Target anchored Sunshine Plaza.

"The Sunshine Coast continues to be one of the fastest growing regions in Australia which is highlighted by the fact that a total of 13,173 new dwellings were approved within the catchment area in the five years from 2006/07 to 2010/11," Mr Crocetti said.

Total bulky goods spending rates in the catchment are above average, with the forecast overall spending rate of $3,190 per capita in 2013/14 being 6% higher than the forecast Regional Queensland rate.

Mr Crocetti said the remaining tenancies in the Maroochydore Homemaker Centre were 125sqm, 510sqm, 515sqm and 1,320sqm with the centre over 91% occupied.

They are available for lease with furniture, kitchen displays, bathroom & tile displays, baby supplies, lighting showrooms, manchester & curtains, carpet displays, and outdoor and camping retailers being targeted for the final showroom space.
