A Tamworth couple recently settled into their home at Dunstall Park and have found a fantastic community spirit at the Barratt Homes development during the Coronavirus pandemic.
First time buyers, Jamie (29) and Rebecca McIntyre (26) welcomed their son Logan just days after moving in and are now living lockdown life as a threesome.
Rebecca said: “The property is the perfect size for our little family's first house. The layout is brilliant too with a nice open and social kitchen area backing onto the garden.”
The couple have found a fantastic community spirit bloom since lockdown, Rebecca said: “Our immediate neighbours are brilliant and are all friendly and chatty, creating a great community feel.
“Everyone is keeping in contact during these hard times and we are very much looking forward to things returning to normal.”
Whilst the impact of the pandemic could never have been predicted when the couple were reserving their home, the move came at just the right time as the couple have had the rare pleasure of watching their son grow up more closely than if they were out at work.
Jamie said: “We are fortunate that we can both be at home during this time. Rebecca is still on maternity leave and I am self-employed, so we have been able to experience the joy of really witnessing our boy grow and develop.”
As well as spending time as a family in their new home, the McIntyres have been following government guidelines, spending only a limited amount of time outside of their home each day to exercise and enjoy the fresh air.
Jamie added: “I have been going out running a few times a week, we have the country lanes out one way towards Hopwas and a run into and around the castle grounds and Tamworth streets the other so it's very handy.
“We both go out for a walk with Logan every other day and have some nice walks into the castle grounds with the sun shining which are beautiful. The layout of the development is also very nice, we love the inclusion of the play area and the pond too.”
